Litsa Menounos, Maria's mother was diagnosed in the month of August in 2016 by GBM (glioblastoma Multiforme), a cancerous brain tumor that is difficult to treat. Menounos was taking part in the care for her mom as she underwent radiation and chemotherapy. Mariah Carey has been an American performer, actor producer, and owner of a record label since the 1980s. Guinness World Records refers to her as "the Songbird Supreme" for her five-octave voice range and melismatic style of singing and the use of the whistles.
