Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to work in conjunction with Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she performed together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. She released Pho, her debut EP on Oct 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening act. In 2018 she went on to appear on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
